Noah’s Ark is a children’s hospice in north and central London. They raise money to help support children with life limiting or life-threatening illnesses. They have a range of children and find support for them through sensory therapy, music therapy, play therapy. There are a variety of different ways for the children to interact with the world especially designs. Noah’s Ark also works with the local community of Hackney.

How did the charity start?

The charity was founded by a man named Michael McCartney, he had a niece who was very ill and was put into an adult hospice. The hospice was unable to fulfil the proper requirements of his niece. The fact that there were no children hospices confused Mr McCartney and kindled his urge to create his own foundation. Mr McCartney started within his community offering his services until he finally got a building and his big goal started off in 1999 which has then had the outcome of this established charity organisation.
